Dear Families,
We started using the > greater than and < less than symbols today to compare two numbers. We imagined that these symbols were actually alligators. When given a choice between two numbers, they ONLY want to eat the bigger number.
Students made their own greater than, less than alligators. I asked them to place these math crafts in their folders. Students can use these alligators to help them with math home work!
I especially like that we wrote the words "greater than" and "less than" on the alligator. Knowing how to read 37 > 21 as 37 is greater than 21 is tough stuff! Having the phrase written on the alligator will give them an extra chance to practice.
Happy Wednesday!
