Over the last two weeks we've been working towards developing accurate measurement techniques, understanding the meaning of at least, and developing language to describe measurements that fall between two whole units.
This past Friday student's invented their own fish, decided how long that fish would have to be to be a "keeper" and then depicted them on the pages you see below. They also named them accordingly!

Then we tied in some of our thinking about which books mostly give information and which books are mostly entertaining. We read these fish related books and discussed how we knew which was fiction and which was non-fiction.
