How can you support your student with this important comprehension skill at home?
After students have read for home work, ask them to retell the story. Have then include the problem and solution in the retelling of the story.
Another way to reinforce it is by examining the problems and solutions that occur in every day life! Maybe their zipper is stuck, or their pencil is unsharpened...another opportunity to discuss problems and solutions.
